Aliceville by Air

A few days after the Aliceville derailment in Alabama, photojournalist John Wathen flew over the wreckage of what was being reported as a 12 tank car derailment. The reality was 25 tank cars derailed with the majority of them burned and ruptured. Imagine this happeningĀ  along the Mississippi River. It would be ridiculously hard to contain (especially during the spring thaw) and would cause catastrophic damage to the ecosystem and river towns along the river.
