MnDOT hosts open house on state rail plan, hears concerns on oil-train safety

November 26, 2014 | Winona Daily News | MnDOT officials were in Winona Tuesday night seeking public input as they work on updating a plan for the future of the state’s rail system, a topic of added importance this year as the system grapples with heavy traffic from crude oil coming out of North Dakota.

In the meeting at Winona City Hall, MnDOT representatives discussed the future of the Minnesota State Rail Plan, which sets guidance and priorities for state transportation projects.
