Aerial Photos Of Monday’s West Virginia Train Crash Show Scope Of Devastation

February 21, 2015| Pixable| When word reached me late Monday, February 16, that a West Virginia (WV) train explosion had sent flames hundreds of feet high above Powellton Hollow, WV — we immediately called Paul Corbit Brown. We knew Brown would have visited the site as it’s just down the road from his Fayette County home.

“It’s a mess,” Brown told us on the phone that night. “I heard one guy down there ran barefoot from his house just before the explosion burned it to the ground … that train had 109 cars on it.” Brown would know details like this, he’s lived in the area since birth, raised by a coal miner and now living outside the small company town where he was raised.
