Oil train activists gather in Albany


October 24, 2015 | TimesUnion| In the more than two years since a crude oil train derailed and exploded in the small Quebec town of Lac-Megantic, Marilaine Savard has spent her days fighting.

The explosions killed 47 people. Five bodies couldn’t be found. Some speculate they were vaporized in the explosions that day. More than 30 buildings downtown were destroyed. The river and a nearby lake were contaminated. The first thing to be rebuilt was the railroad.
