East Coast Deliveries From Bakken Region Peak in 2015

February 26, 2016 | EIA.GOV | Editor’s Note: Although reports continue to show a slow drop in the number of oil shipments by rail, it is interesting to note that since 2010, the greatest number of oil train shipments from the Bakken region to the east coast peaked in May of 2015 and although the number of shipments by rail from these regions was lower in November of 2015 from November of 2014, the number of shipments dropped by only eight percent. This means that there is still a lot of oil being shipped by rail to the east coast from the Bakken region traveling by rail through the Upper Midwest.
