Train Derails in Callaway after Crash with Propane Truck, Town Evacuated


March 24, 2016 | KSTP |A uthorities are responding to a train derailment in Callaway, Minnesota.

The derailment was due to a crash between a Canadian Pacific train and a propane truck, officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation say. It was reported at 12:25 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the tanker is currently on fire, and crews from 15 fire departments are working to extinguish it. The collision apparently happened at a railroad crossing, and seven of the 82 train cars derailed in the crash, according to Andy Cummings with Canadian Pacific Railway.
