No injuries, no spill in Jersey City freight train derailment

April 23, 2016 | pix11 | JERSEY CITY, N.J. —  Authorities say no one was injured and nothing was spilled when freight train cars derailed in Jersey City Saturday morning.

The derailment happened at 10:30 a.m., at the Newark Avenue crossing.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman, Joseph Pentangelo, says Saturday three or four Conrail freight cars came off the rails in Jersey City. He says Port Authority police report no injuries and no spilled hazardous materials.
