Freight train derailed in New Britain


December 6, 2016 | WTNH| NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — Eight cars of a freight train have derailed along Columbus Boulevard in New Britain, according to the New Britain Mayor’s Office.

A spokesperson with the Mayor’s Office tells News 8 that eight cars of the freight train derailed on Columbus Boulevard and Colombus Boulevard is closed between High and Chestnut Streets due to debris in the roadway. The train is owned by Pan Am Railways.
