This purpose of this website is to bring to light safety issues related to DOT-111 rail cars. There are 93,000 rail cars in operation, most of which are not up to current safety standards. Every day, more and more Bakken crude oil is being transported unsafely by rail throughout North America. Most of these DOT-111 cars are owned or leased by oil companies and they do not want to pay the cost to upgrade them.
The U.S. Government has known for 20 years that these cars are unsafe. Enough is enough! Write to your congressmen, spread the word, get involved!
